We are searching for a part-time Contract Manager to help draft and review business contracts and facilitate successfully closing business arrangements critical to the company’s success. Our ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, has transaction experience, is adept at reading and interpreting complex language, and is process-oriented. Experience working with Software as a Service (SaaS) business contracts required.

This is a part-time, hybrid position based in the greater Chicago metro area, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer. In 2023, Vibes was recognized as a Built In Best Hybrid Places to Work.

Responsibilities:

  • Review, revise, and negotiate agreements/contracts, including, but not limited to:
    • Software-as-a-Service agreements (SaaS)
    • Professional service agreements
    • Purchase contracts with technology vendors
    • Statements of work
    • Non-disclosure agreements
    • Policy agreements (privacy, data security, etc)
  • Maintain and manage version control and records for all signed contracts/agreements
  • Manage the contract signature process
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure appropriate implementation of contractual obligations in billing
  • Identify and execute to create efficiencies to our current processes

Experience:

  • 4+ years’ experience managing the process of entering into commercial SaaS contracts 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a contract negotiation, take point on spotting issues and drafting terms
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Ability to build trust and strong relationships both internally and externally
  • Track record of learning quickly
  • Adept at determining priorities and understanding objectives of work assigned
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to quickly identify errors or issues to resolve
  • Knowledge of federal and state contract laws and regulations
  • Research skills
  • Analytical thinking
  • Negotiation skills

Preferred qualifications

  • Law degree and/or active Illinois law license preferred
  • Must be able to draft contract redlines based on individual client playbooks and risk tolerance
  • Knowledge of and experience with terms common to SaaS Agreements

Compensation and Benefits: The compensation range for this role is $30 to $40 per hour. Final compensation will be determined by factors such as relevant work experience, skills, and certifications.
