CONTRACT Senior Airborne Platform Software Engineer

Overview
As a Gogo Business Aviation CONTRACT Senior Airborne Platform Software Engineer you will be responsible the board bring-up, development environment setup, and feature development for a new Xilinx, ARM based product Gogo is developing. This system is a new product that will leverage Gogo's existing and new Air-to-ground networks. You will be part of an experienced development team that integrates closely with other teams across the company.
This position requires you to be the expert, guiding the current Gogo design and development team.

How will you make a difference?

• Lead the board bring-up and setup development environment for a new Gogo Xilinx based product.
• Create high and low-level design documentation
• Conduct design reviews and participate in code inspections
• Assist in development of automated unit tests
• Provide estimates for design and feature development
• Track project stories/tasks, provide status, and ensure stories/tasks are completed on schedule
• Participate in establishing and maintaining software build environment and source code repositories

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 12+ years of software development experience, in a Linux environment
• This will be a 6 month contract to start

Required Skills, Experience and Talents

• In-depth experience with Xilinx, specifically Zynq Ultrascale+
• Has worked extensively with Linux, specifically PetaLinuxYocto
• Can set up the build environment, toolchain, and software packaging for Xilinx
• Skilled with Linux kernel configuration and kernel builds
• Knowledgeable in configuring and building Linux device drivers
• Proficient with C, Python, and BASH

Preferred Skills, Experience and Talents

• Strong skills configuring and optimizing U-boot and modifying if necessary
• Experience developing install and upgrade apps and processes
• Relevant software configuration management and tools skills using Git/GitHub
• Solid debugging skills in an embedded environment
• Has worked with the Agile software development methodology and SAFe framework
