Job Description

F&G is hiring for a Contracting Specialist II that will be responsible for ensuring agents are fully contracted and appointed with the appropriate MGA, marketing channel, state(s) and carrier, reporting to Manager, Agency Services.

Duties and Responsibilities

Role-Specific Responsibilities

  • Maintains in-depth expert knowledge of department contracting and licensing procedures, including state variations.
  • Enters and verifies data into various Company databases.
  • Performs basic mathematical calculations.
  • Assists in department project work.
  • Assist as needed in promotional and marketing efforts for channel/territory.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Responsible for timely processing of all new agent appointments and commissions.
  • Responsible for timely processing of all maintenance items for appointed agents to include routine changes to agent’s personal records, contract and hierarchy; including terminations, culling of non-producing agents in conjunction with state renewal processing.

Client Services                         

  • Responsible to agent requests and issues by telephone and through written communication.
  • Reacts to all service requests made by agents, clients, or field personnel.

Risk Responsibilities

  • Adheres to company policies and legal requirements regarding sales and product compliance.

People Management

  • Work directly with key distribution partners as a key resource with regard to contracting, licensing and commission inquiries.
  • Maintain active participation in agents' associations and other professional organizations.

  • Demonstrates basic understanding of how current job fits into the organizational vision.
  • Demonstrates awareness of workload and shares updates on availability with manager.
  • Monitors, measures, and assesses processes to determine areas of improvement; identifies and eliminates operational waste.
  • Understands data and communicates the meaning to managers and executives.
  • Owns responsibility for timely production of deliverables.
  • Understands expectations for interaction with vendors for their functional area.
  • Assists in deliverable management and coaches junior team members on quality solution delivery.
  • Proactively seeks to continue development of knowledge of the regulatory environment and able to share this information with team members.

Experience & Education Requirements

  • AA or BA degree preferred. Relevant experience considered in lieu of degree.
  • 3+ years of experience working in the insurance or financial services industry.
  • Experience handling escalated phone calls involving service issues or training needs.
  • Successful completion of Life insurance related education such as LOMA or CLU coursework strongly preferred.

  • Perform other functions, duties and projects as assigned
  • Regular and punctual attendance
  • Some travel required (less than 10%)
