Control & Automation Engineer (SCADA)

Your Role and Responsibilities

Companies have more choices than ever before between on-premise off-premise or a hybrid approach. As an Associate Infrastructure Specialist you’ll be responsible for keeping up with the latest changes using your expertise to deliver solutions that meet the needs of our clients and products. In your role you may be responsible for:

Define analyze and review technical architecture on required platform and coming up with architecture options and recommendations
Define detail and scope the technical requirements into solutions
Work across key activities in configuration systems management tools and backup and recovery
Support Technical Consultants and lead in building solutions and providing technical mentoring and guidance

• Provides production support for existing in-house developed SCADA applications 3rd-party vendor provided applications and other home-grown applications.
• Interfaces with trade floor real-time trading personnel ISO and third-party technical representatives and field crews to provide solutions to data and telemetry challenges.
• Responsible for providing technical assistance and support to end users through email phone calls in-person interactions or remote connections and to provide actionable solutions.
• Responsible for troubleshooting and diagnosing technological issues with hardware or software and collaborating with other members of IT teams to resolve complex technical issues.
• Responsible for evaluating optimizing configuring and maintaining NEER IT applications including SCADA systems. Able to work extended hours.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• Understanding of SCADA telemetry and operations plant SCADA configuration and communications
• Understanding of shell scripting and programming concepts
• Understanding of networking and telecommunication concepts
• Understanding of Operating systems (Unix (Redhat & AIX) Linux and Windows)
• Working knowledge of Wonderware ICCP MODBUS and DDE communications
• Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of management and external ISO entities.
• Ability to focus and drive improvements or modifications that can increase productivity save time or provide a cost-effective alternative to current systems.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Experience with administration monitoring and maintenance of production systems.
• Proficient English
• Agile Methodologies
