Control Room Operator

The Control Room Operator reports to the Shift Supervisor and will monitor all system conditions, co-ordinate all systems, and operation related activities; document any system stoppages and submit required reports .The Control Room Operator will accurately report all system faults and breakdowns in a timely manner to Maintenance Technicians in order to minimize system down-time. 

Must be able to work any shift; including nights, weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

• Coordinate execution of the operational procedures for specific tasks during normal operations or during system failure
• Supply accurate fault reports and system breakdowns to technical staff for quick fault resolution
• Complete hand over report during shift changes
• Contact operations staff in the field to inform them of any operational problem requiring attention
• Liaise with management regarding daily operations
• Contact with baggage handling system stakeholders to manage the daily issues or questions related to system operation
• Monitor system performance (system baggage flow)
• Monitor manual encoder operator performance
• Technical and procedural training to manual encoding operators in performing their duties
• Complete detailed shift reports
• Analyze issues to determine corrective actions to prevent their future occurrences
• Carry out other tasks or assignments, as assigned

Pay rate per hour: $27.66 | Fringe rate per hour : $7.73 minus benefit credit. 

Working hours: Sunday-Wednesday (Sunday-Tuesday 4:00pm-4:00am and Wednesday 4:00pm-10:00pm)

Qualifications

• Must be able to work any shift; including nights, weekends and holidays
• 2 + years of work experience in baggage handling systems and/or automated systems in material handling industries, operations and maintenance
• Ability to successfully obtain an Airside Pass (Security Clearance)
• High-Level control (SAC) skills
• Software documentation and IT network knowledge
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities
• Team player, personable and a winning attitude
