We’re searching for an experienced Controller to join our team and keep our finances positioned for continued success. As an Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all accounting activities, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations. You will work closely with our clients to provide financial guidance, manage their accounting processes, and contribute to their overall success.Β 

Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and provide them to management.
  • Identify and investigate variances and discrepancies, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain budgets for the company and work closely with department heads to review and align financial targets.
  • Collaborate with Leadership to provide financial insights and data-driven decision support.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

2. Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to establish financial targets.
  • Develop and maintain rolling forecasts to provide real-time insights into financial performance.
  • Monitor budget-to-actual variances and provide recommendations to align spending with strategic goals.
  • Implement cost control measures and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive financial discipline across the organization.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on special projects as necessary.

3. Accounts Payable and Receivable Management:

  • Oversee accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, vendor reconciliations, and payment approvals.
  • Manage accounts receivable, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing, collections, and credit control based on the aging report.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and clients to resolve payment and billing issues.
  • Implement best practices for optimizing working capital and cash flow management.
  • Review and approve all check and electronic payments.

4. Team Leadership and Development:

  • Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance and support.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, set performance goals, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate training and development initiatives to enhance team members' skills and knowledge.
  • Ensure workload distribution and task prioritization to maintain an efficient and effective accounting department.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Provide quality checks on the accountants' work as necessary.

5. Compliance and Audit Oversight:

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and industry-specific requirements.
  • Manage external audits, acting as the main point of contact for auditors and providing required documentation.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and maintain data accuracy.
  • Stay updated on accounting and regulatory changes, implementing necessary updates to policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) for tax-related matters.
  • Update and furnish documentation to the CPA for year-end processes.
  • Provide guidance on tax planning strategies and ensure accurate and timely tax filings.

Preferred skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as head accountant or accounting manager in a consulting firm or related industry.
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to develop and execute financial strategies.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools, including QuickBooks, is preferred.
  • Advanced skills in Excel are required.
  • Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and compliance.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
