Controller

Immediate opportunity available. GHJ Search & Staffing has partnered with a stable and growing Manufacturing company to help identify a Temporary Controller. This position would be considered for the role as an employee and is key within the organization. In addition to Accounting Management there will be strategic work such as reviewing to hire a Professional Employer Organization (PEO) to outsource full-service human resource function and handle payroll & benefits administration (Health, 401k, pension programs) on behalf of the company.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and payroll functions.
• Manage and coordinate month-end and year-end financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements.
• Implement internal controls and SOP’s, (AP and Cash Sales) includes training of personnel.
• Compliance and timely external reporting requirements (SOS, 1099 tax reporting, etc.)
• Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with department heads and senior management to develop accurate financial projections.
• Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities, ensuring compliance with statutory reporting requirements.
• Mentor and develop the accounting team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in Spanish is highly preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience
• Experience in the manufacturing industry is highly desirable.
