Grand Prairie Services is currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Controller to join our team. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, including financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis. Engage in preparation, implementation and evaluation of financial statements, budgets, financial plans, and financial forecasts. Ensure the financial integrity of the organization and its affiliates in such a manner as to maximize the delivery of high quality, cost-effective services within the limitations of sound fiscal practices. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the company's financial health and compliance with accounting standards.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable.
- Prepare financial statements and reports for senior management
- Conduct account reconciliations and ensure accuracy in financial data
- Develop and monitor budgets to support the company's financial goals
- Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions
- Perform financial analysis to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements
- Lead the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger maintenance
Skills:
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills:
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including GAAP
- Proficiency in Sage or similar accounting software
- Experience in account analysis and reconciliation
- Ability to perform balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger reconciliation
- Familiarity with governmental accounting practices is a plus
- Strong technical accounting skills
- Excellent financial analysis capabilities
- Ability to communicate complex financial information effectively
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in accounting and/or a licensed certified public accountant with a minimum of five years related experience in financial, accounting systems, budgeting, forecasting and business planning. Master’s degree preferred.
