Job Responsibilities:
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Controls Engineer role will design implement and maintain control systems for our manufacturing processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and improve automation systems troubleshoot issues and ensure efficient operation. Your responsibilities will include programming PLCs HMI development performing system integration and conducting testing and validation. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills along with knowledge of industrial automation and control systems are key to success in this role.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma required College or Technical Education from accredited institutions preferred
- 5+ years of experience in industrial electrical environment
- 5+ years of experience with RS Logix 500 5000.
- 5+ years of experience with Rockwell Factory Talk View.
- Knowledge of hydraulics pneumatics industrial power distribution and PLC controlled equipment
- Experience with Inductive Automation's Ignition Platform VB Python and Java is beneficial.
- Experience with Fanuc and Epson Robots is beneficial.
- Experience with Cognex Vision Systems is beneficial.
- Experience in a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing environment with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.
- Proven experience working with cross functional teams to complete daily tasks and projects.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members supervisors and other employees.
- Knowledge/experience of Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint Project)
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify and troubleshoot issues that may arise.
ROLE EXPECTATIONS
- Develop electrical and controls system design solutions based on engineering principles.
- Provide technical support to external and internal customers.
- Resolve operational problems related to projects and minimize delays or unexpected cost increases.
- Responsible for project success whether project leader or as part of a project team.
- Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed for all work completed.
- Identify and address design parameters and engineering problems and ensure solutions are implemented
- Analyze project requirements and perform technical calculations supporting design including electrical
- requirements robotic safety standards and motor controls.
- Create and finalize designs to meet project requirements.
- Create accurate Bill of Materials.
- Define equipment and parts from external suppliers.
- Conduct cost and time estimation.
- Oversee project workflow and support internal and external resources to ensure timely delivery of
- projects expected quality and allotted budget.
- Electrical software design of customized solutions including manufacturing automation and safety
- systems. Able to maintain project scope and identify project creep.
- Support manufacture build and validation of systems which include pneumatics servos vfd's relays
- communication networks touchscreens pushbuttons and robotic integration.
- Create customer documentation such as user manuals programming diagrams network diagrams and
- electrical drawings.
- Ability to architect programs that are simple to test well documented and versatile.
- Maintain accurate records and files according to quality standard.
- Commission customized products and systems onsite and at customer facilities.
- Servicing
- Modifies systems upon customer's request and documents the amendments accordingly.
- Provide high quality pre-sales design-in and post-sales technical support to customer.
- Performs other duties as needed.
