OPPORTUNITY

The primary purpose of this position is to oversee the control systems at the Hydrite Chemical Co. facilities.  Responsible for evaluating, designing, installing, maintaining, programming, and improving the performance and reliability of the plant control systems. This position is responsible for improving the access and presentation of data from the control systems.

As Controls Engineer, primary responsibilities include:

• Develop and manage control system standards, procedures, practices, training, and security across all facilities.
• Develop and maintain Delta V programming standardization across plants that have Delta V implemented.
• Increase the utilization of Delta V capabilities that will help facilities run more efficiently.
• Provide support and guidance to plant personnel about Hydrite control system standards
• Develop training and training documentation for control system and data collection system
• Develop and manage data collection system usage and standardization across all branches.
• Develop KPIs around process data that allow equipment to run more efficiently and effectively.
• Expand the use of the data collection system to include information from outside the control system.
• Audit facility control systems to ensure changes were approved and compliant with our controls MOC process
• Maintain the functional integrity of existing control systems and instrumentation, which includes
• troubleshooting systems and devices, keeping the associated software up-to-date, executing the
• associated preventative-maintenance plans and calibration schedules and maintaining the accuracy of associated process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
• Work with the sites to develop and maintain Delta V and PLC I/O lists and up to date Delta V and PLC cabinet drawings
• Guide and support the facilities in setting up and maintaining preventative maintenance plans for control systems within Maximo.
• Perform Hydrite’s subject matter expert (SME) activities for control systems, instrumentation and data collection systems
• Promote safety in all aspects of operations so as to improve the safety record at all facilities throughout the company.
• Provide engineering support to the Corporate SQRA departments to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and standards.

REPORTING STRUCTURE

• This position reports to the Controls & Maintenance Compliance Manager

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL CRITERIA

• A Bachler’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline required
• DCS, PLC, SCADA systems knowledge required
• Minimum of five years of experience with instrumentation and control systems
• Minimum of three years of experience interfacing with contractors
• Strong computer skills and knowledge of Power Point, Word, and Excel required
• Must have communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to read, write and speak English
