This position is based on-site at our Indianapolis fulfillment center.

What You’ll Do

Hungryroot is looking for a Controls Engineer to join our growing Operations team. The Controls Engineer will support fulfillment operations by implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting automated equipment. This role will serve as the technical resource for our Indianapolis facility and will work closely with the Site Leader and Operations Manager to ensure automated equipment is operating effectively, and to identify and execute process improvements to drive overall fulfillment performance. How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Implement and support PLC, HMI and other software for control systems and equipment
  • Provide fulfillment staff with general technical support
  • Develop program to maintain critical equipment to include pick-to light, case erector, conveyors, and other technical or powered equipment 
  • Responsible for maintaining high level of equipment up time
  • Assist in continual improvement activities to improve fulfillment center KPIs
  • Willing to jump in whenever needed
Why We Need You
  • 3-5 years experience working with PLC systems in an industrial environment
  • Experience working with PLC, HMI and associated software 
  • Basic understanding of wiring and control systems
  • Project management experience owning data analysis and critical thinking related tasks 
  • Demonstrated ability in problem solving and resolution of root cause
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly Excel
  • Ability to extract, evaluate, and utilize data for process improvement from applicable systems
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is preferred
