Hadrian - Manufacturing the Future
Hadrian builds software-defined high precision component factories for the top aerospace companies in the world. After a successful customer beta phase, we are substantially scaling our operations to our second factory (based in Torrance) and are in the final stretch of building our core software engineering and product team from whom the future of Hadrian will be built upon. This team will leverage various current and advanced technologies and build custom in house software solutions to help improve, automate and scale the future of manufacturing in the U.S.
We are in search of software engineers with the drive to augment manufacturing and build complex, yet elegant software as well as the machinists who have a passion to push the trade forward.

Our Copilot and Controls Team:
Our Copilot and Controls team is a multidisciplinary team at the crossroads of software development and machining automation. Your engineering skills will be pivotal in developing tangible, industry-advancing products to revitalize American manufacturing.

+ Universal Controller Interface: Invent a universal controller interface for CNC machines to streamline operations and ensure interoperability across diverse machining platforms.
+ Inspection and Process Control: Utilize spindle probing to revolutionize inspection and process control, enhancing precision and efficiency.
+ Multi-Part Programming Solutions: Develop an adaptable multi-part programming solution to facilitate streamlined operations and flexibility.
+ Automate Machine Calibration: Lead initiatives in automatic machine calibration, pushing the boundaries of operational excellence.
+ Integrated Feedback Loop: Innovate an integrated CMMCNC feedback loop, bridging the gap between measurement and control in machining processes.
Who You Will Be Working With:
- You'll collaborate with world-class engineers, roboticists, machinists, and manufacturing engineers. This role reports directly to Spencer Burns on the Copilot and Controls team.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Acquire a comprehensive understanding of Hadrian’s production system and technological stack, engage in system maintenance and troubleshooting, and shadow diverse product workflows to gain context of our factory.
- Take ownership of an existing automation product, exhibit flexibility in supporting various engineering tasks, and collaborate closely with the Operations team to enhance product stability and efficiency.
- Contribute to new product design and development, formulate a personal learning plan for continuous skill augmentation, and potentially lead automation development projects based on technical acumen and performance.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience engineering a manufacturing production system:Experience with controllers such as Fanuc, Heidenhain, or Siemens (setting origins, tools, offsets, program load/unload, probing)
- Understanding of machine calibration (How to setup a spindle probes, tool setting laser, and kinematic center of rotation)
- Able to automate a manufacturing production process by developing custom programs/macros.
- Understanding of macro programming (Macro B, Q Parameters, full command of variables, loops, conditional statements, data models, databases)Understanding of machining fundamentals, multi-axis CNC machines, and cutting tools
What Sets You Apart:
- Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing production environment
- CAM experience programming CNC machines
- Process optimization for CNC production
- Exceptional understanding of GD&T
- Software engineering experience / abilities (Python, C#) and operating experience with databases
- Experience with robotics
