USNR is seeking a Controls Engineer. USNR provides the opportunity for successful applicants to apply their skills and deploy leading-edge technologies on all solid wood and engineered wood machines and processes. Typical projects involve PLC/HMI programming, Motion control, Network Design, and Control Panel / Console layouts. These positions require self-motivated individuals with strong analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills who can easily take a concept from design to commissioning. The ability to lead and motivate others while building and maintaining solid relationships with customers is essential. The development and implementation of new technology with each assignment will ensure that you stay at the leading edge of your chosen field.

Essential Functions/Key Accountabilities:

• Design, program, and commission industrial controls systems which include discrete & analog I/O, motion control, and networking
• Design, program, and commission Vision applications using industrial smart-cameras
• Design Control Panels, Operator Consoles, Electrical systems
• Design and commission industrial user interfaces (HMI’s)

Educational/Other Requirements:

• 1-3 years experience with control system design, preferably in the wood products industry
• Bachelor's Degree in engineering preferred
• Strong command of the English language in both written and verbal communication
• Field experience commissioning and servicing control systems including PLC’s, HMI’s, VFD’s, Servos
• Experience with Rockwell Software including RSLogix and FactoryTalk View
• Design and commission Hydraulic Motion Control
• Experience with Delta RMC and Rockwell Motion
• Ability to travel approximately 30%
• Ability to cross international borders and travel to customer locations in North America and overseas
