Controls Engineer - Power Elec.
As a Power Electronics Controls Engineer at Lunar, you will be responsible for building power electronics simulations and for developing control methods, algorithms, and firmware for all of Lunarโs electrification systems. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about decarbonizing residential buildings and building a more sustainable future. An ideal candidate is both collaborative and able to work independently, bringing both creativity and rigor to our modeling efforts.
In this role, you will:
- Develop detailed simulation models of power electronics and associated control systems for all of Lunarโs power conversion systems
- Develop detailed system-level simulation models
- Create, implement, and validate control firmware methods using simulation models
- Support implementation of control firmware in hardware
- Define validation methods and tests for confirming expected behaviors andperformance of developed control firmware
- Support product and engineering requirements and design using simulation modelingoutputs.
- Communicate proposals, results, and specifications through clear, information-rich datavisualizations
About you:
- Masters or PhD in power electronics, electrical engineering, applied physics, or related.
- Strong understanding of power electronics, photovoltaic systems, and Li-ion batteries
- Fluent with power electronics simulation tools such as Simulink, Saber, Plecs, or similar
- Experienced with embedded firmware development for real-time controls systems
- Familiarity with grid-interactive inverters a plus
- Strong data visualization and technical communication skills
