THE JOB:
As a Convention Sales Manager, you will be at the forefront of our convention business, managing incoming leads, providing exceptional sales services, and coordinating group events. Your role is pivotal in developing sales opportunities with strategic partners to maximize event revenue. Additionally, you will evaluate proposed business opportunities and provide valuable recommendations to our corporate executive team.
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
- Manage incoming leads for prospective business, provides sales, services and coordination of group events on behalf of MGM Resorts. •
- Develop sales opportunities with strategic partners to grow event revenue opportunities.
- Evaluate the viability of the proposed business and provides recommendations to the corporate executive team.
- Researches and generates convention and hotel bookings in an assigned market and achieves an effective sales goal in room night quotas, telephone calls, site inspections, lead room nights and correspondence.
- Creates awareness and actively sells MGM Resorts International through actively seeking out opportunities for Sales trips, attends conferences, tradeshows, sales missions and networking meetings to promote convention business and drive repeat business.
- Hosts prospective clients visiting to the properties including customer entertainment such as dining in hotel restaurants and accompanying clients to shows.
WHAT YOU WILL HAVE:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 1 year of prior relevant experience.
WHAT WILL MAKE YOU STAND OUT:
- Previous experience in an Executive Meeting Manager role or similar role.
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with strategic partners.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
