Summary
About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency. It is located within the Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Fort Eisenhower, Georgia. Incumbent will provide meal service and food preparation for the dining facility within the command.
Duty Hours are: Sunday-Saturday 0500-1330 or 1000-1830. Incumbent will rotate between the 2 shifts.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 30 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- This position requires the employee to wear a uniform attire while on duty.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- This position requires the employee to use Safety Shoes.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Cook Leader without more than normal supervision. The ability to perform common cook leader tasks including preparing and cooking a variety of menu items, following recipes and making adjustments for serving sizes. I can encourage and lead other employees to follow supervisor's instructions. In addition, I can demonstrate proper work methods, and answer workers' questions regarding procedures, policies, written instructions, and/or other directive under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
- Ability to Do the Work of the Position without More Than Normal Supervision
- Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (Other Than Blueprint Reading)
- Dexterity and Safety
- Knowledge of Materials
- Work Practices (Including Keeping Things Neat, Clean, and in Order)
Physical Effort: Work involves frequent lifting or moving of objects weighing up to 30 pounds and constant standing and walking. May occasionally be required to lift over 60 pounds (e.g., pans of meat, containers of milk).
Working Conditions: Incumbent is subject to injuries from equipment used; and is exposed to cooking oils, grease and heat from ovens. There is danger of slipping on floors which are wet from daily mopping or where food or beverage has been dropped.
