Decide is an AI company that crowdsources decisions to achieve better outcomes. Our flagship product, the Decision Marketplace℠, is an ever-growing marketplace of intelligent models that gets smarter with every addition. Today, the Decision Marketplace is powering our ad platform to offer brands and publishers a future-proof solution for a cookieless world, but in the coming years we expect that the scope of our work will expand.

The Human Resources Coordinator will support Decide’s distributed employee base of more than 70 people by carrying out core functions such as benefits administration, onboarding and offboarding, and work sponsorship programs. We also have a number of new initiatives in flight that we expect the Human Resources team to oversee; this includes the launch of employee resource groups (ERGs) and on-site employee and community programming.

Decide is actively developing a unique approach to goal setting, team calibration, and reporting. We’re seeking an HR professional who will enthusiastically embrace this direction while offering strategic guidance. 

This role will report into the President and work closely with the Director of Messaging and Community. This is a hybrid role, and candidates must be based in the St. Louis area with the ability to work from our local hub at least once per week.

What you'll do:

  • Support core HR functionality inclusive of employee onboarding, offboarding, and work sponsorship programs
  • Administer employee benefits, including processing new enrollments, terminations, COBRA, disability and worker’s compensation claims, and family and medical leave requests
  • Serve as a trusted people-focused resource within the company and provide ad hoc support and education to our employee base
  • Support a positive company culture and help foster employee buy-in around new initiatives
  • Help resolve personnel conflicts, oversee regular performance review cycles, and assist team leads in the development and execution of performance improvement plans, as needed
  • Oversee the development and roll out of new HR initiatives and policies inclusive of employee resource groups and onsite employee and community programming
  • Help ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment regulations
  • Ensure organized record keeping of confidential as well as general documentation

Your skills and experience should include: 

  • 2-4 years of human resources experience at a multi-state company with a distributed, remote workforce
  • Knowledge of federal and state-level employment laws and regulations
  • Experience managing benefits administration inclusive of healthcare, PTO, disability and workers compensation claims, and FMLA requests
  • Familiarity with immigation law and work sponsorship programs
  • Ability to build strong relationships across the organization and to serve as a trusted resource and advocate for our employee base while maintaining a business perspective
  • Willingness to buy into a unique culture of goal setting, calibration, and reporting
  • Sound ethical judgment and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Fastidious organization, impeccable attention to detail and strong critical thinking skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to thrive in a team atmosphere as well as autonomously
  • Ability to quickly learn processes and master HRIS and ATS platforms (experience with Zenefits and Lattice is a plus)
  • Experience at a tech startup or growth-stage company is a plus
