Team Rubicon (TR) is seeking a Coordinator, Institutional Giving – Grant Writer. The Coordinator, Institutional Giving – Grant Writer will develop and advance strategic fundraising goals while creating meaningful relationships with our passionate donor base. This will require the ability to navigate, coordinate, and organize complex org charts, budgets, and calendars to inform proposals, access grant opportunities, and ensure high-quality, timely, and accurate reports. The Coordinator, Institutional Giving – Grant Writer will be responsible for submitting grant solicitations (proposals, Letter of Inquiry, Request for Applications, etc.) and grant reports (expense reports, impact reports, etc.).

Every day will be a challenge, but every month brings new opportunities for an organization that is quickly becoming a household name in disaster response. This position reports to TR’s Manager, Grants & Compliance and is based out of TR’s National Headquarters in Los Angeles, CA.

Duties:

  • Coordinate all grant processes (e.g., evaluations, budget, finance, reports, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring compliance and other funder requirements
  • Write grant applications and related documents (e.g., required reports, budgets, specific inquiries, etc.) for the purpose of submitting to the appropriate funding agency
  • Monitor proposals and funding application requirements, content, delivery method and labeling, deadlines, and eligibility for grants
  • Participate in meetings, workshops, and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions
  • Research grant opportunities (e.g., facility improvements, curriculum development, administrative needs, etc.) for the purpose of developing additional funding resources for both current and proposed services
  • Persuasively communicate the organization's mission and programs, including intended inputs to outcomes (and everything between), to potential funders

Experience and Background:

  • Bachelor's Degree in English, Creative Writing, International Relations/Affairs, or relevant field
  • 1-3 years of experience with nonprofits (either through job, volunteer, or interning)
  • Strong written communication skills: ability to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive proposals
  • Strong verbal communications skills: ability to confidently and clearly communicate with donors over the phone and video conference

Special Requirements:

  • This is a full-time, in-office role and the position is based out of Los Angeles, CA
  • Other Travel: 10% non-local travel to support broader organizational activities

  • $20 - $25 per hour
