The Copy Editor ensures editorial and process excellence for the development and maintenance of Ascend Learning assessments, printed products, and online learning tools. This is accomplished by effectively collaborating with the content, media, and other teams, suggesting changes to enhance readability, conciseness, and style of online and print content targeted to students studying for professions in health care. The copy editor checks copy at various stages of the content production process to ensure it is free of errors, easy to read, and fits the product's editorial style. In addition, the copy editor must have expertise in Ascend products, their use in the marketplace, and the processes and tools used to deliver them.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Proficiency with Adobe InDesign
  • Two years' editing experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office


This position requires that the employee be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, unlessan exemptionhas been granted by Ascend Learning for a religious, health-related or other legally-mandated reason, which will be considered on a case-by-case basis in accordance with applicable law. Individuals are considered "fully vaccinated" (1) two weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series (such as Pfizer or Moderna vaccines); or (2) two weeks after a single-does vaccine (such as Johnson & Johnson's Janssen vaccine).Ascend Learning's current policy also requires that individuals visiting our offices be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
