Job Description
About the role:
This role reports to Ed Cavanaugh in the Fund Research Editorial Services team of the Copy Desk. There are copy editors in various countries. This does not have a matrix reporting structure. In this role, you will edit a broad range of materials produced by the Research group for use across the Morningstar platforms. This position is based in our Chicago office.
Job responsibilities:
- Edit materials for consistency and correctness in AP style, grammar, spelling, logic, and content under deadline pressure.
- Help manage the editorial workflow through several content management systems.
- Ensure copy is formatted properly and meets Morningstar's standards and style.
Qualifications:
- Excellent editing skills as demonstrated through experience and the successful completion of Morningstar's editing test.
- Ability to edit for content.
- Strong English-language skills.
- Strong organizational skills to manage workflow, multitask, take on new projects, and meet deadlines.
- Interest in investing subject matter; experience in editing finance or business copy is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree is required.
- At least three years of previous experience.
Nice to have:
- Experience with InDesign, Excel, and basic chart building is helpful.
