Copy Editor / Proofreader

Boxoffice Pro, the reference trade publication of the movie theater industry, is seeking a Copy Editor/Proofreader with experience working in print publications. The position requires copy editing and proofreading all copy for Boxoffice Pro’s print issues, which come out 8 times per year. Though knowledge of the global cinema industry is not required, you will be expected to clean up articles involving specialized, industry-specific terms and concepts.

Copy Editor / Proofreader will:

●       Copy Edit and Proofread features, Q&As, charts/graphs, guest-written content, and design elements (headlines, cover lines, etc.), taking ownership of grammar/style consistencies throughout the print publication process

●       Work with writers to resolve clarity issues for industry-specific content

●       Have 5+ years of experience proofreading/ copy editing

●       Ensure that all print content adheres to existing style guidelines

●       Attention to detail

●       Ability to turn work around to meet deadlines

●       Review/approve proofing notes from the Boxoffice Pro editorial staff
