Copyright Operations Manager, Strategic Initiatives, YouTube

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
• 6 years of experience working with engineers and with cross-functional teams (e.g., product, legal, etc.)
• Experience as a program manager

Preferred qualifications:

• 6 years of experience in successful program and project management, with the ability to work independently and on multiple threads at once including large-scale initiatives across many teams
• Familiarity with common product abuse vectors, user policy issues, vendor operations, and enforcement operations
• Understanding and application of multiple program management approaches and methodologies
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to lead complex projects across evolving stakeholder groups
• Excellent organization, problem-solving, communication, and people skills
• Passion for mentorship and development of peers and fellow program managers

In this role, you will be responsible for improving policies and processes both within the Copyright team and across the Scaled Abuse and Analytics organization. You will proactively identify ways to improve operational efficiency, manage the objective and key results (OKR) process, assess legal risk, working closely with executive stakeholders across the business to ensure alignment in applying policy principles and addressing brand risk in high profile cases. You will be working cross-functionally across Scaled Abuse, Analytics, Policy Verticals, Product, and Legal to operationalize, enforce, and improve policies that keep users safe and minimize brand risk to the platform. This role could require review of graphic, controversial, and sometimes offensive video and text content to evaluate if they are in line with YouTube's Community Guidelines. The role may also require on-call weekend work.

Responsibilities

• Manage business excellence efforts across the team (e.g., OKR and strategy development, team updates throughout YouTube, business and headcount planning, etc.).
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Legal, Partnerships, Support, Operations, and Leadership to improve both internal and external tooling and communications.
• Own and optimize processes used by our global enforcement and operations team (e.g., vendor operations, escalations, portfolio management, prioritization models, communication standardization).
• Use technical judgment and operational experience to drive project outcomes, build consensus, remove roadblocks, and resolve conflicts.
• Assist in driving projects through the entire project lifecycle with your stakeholders (e.g., defining project goals, developing comprehensive cross-functional project plans, tracking accomplishments/milestones/key issues/change control, clearly communicating status, risks, and remediation plans to executive stakeholders).
