Copywriter

Job Purpose:

As the contributing copywriter you will be responsible for working with a team of copywriters to produce creative content for a list of clients. You will also be comfortable creating copy in different voices for specific brands and audiences be adept at following very specific directions and have exceptional grammar skills. Projects will range from blog posts social ads advertising headlines to long form website copy that require meticulous attention to detail. Some projects will also include SEO.

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

• Familiarity with various ad types (including social media and paid search)

• Basic understanding of US audiences/demographics and how that affects word and tone choice (for example – writing a luxury hotel ad for travelers over 50 vs. writing a blog for brunch spots aimed at guests in their 20s & 30s)

• Experience crafting long-form copy such as blogs and websites

• Basic understanding of on-page SEO best practices

• Experience with proofreading and/or editorial roles refining content written by another person.

• Experience with client calls/communication preferred

• Ability to handle internal and external feedback and successfully execute on that feedback to complete projects

• Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize based on deadlines

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in English or Creative Writing

• 3-5+ years of professional experience with agency or multi-client B2C strongly experience preferred

• Excellent research grammar and writing/editing skills

• Knowledge of best practices for on-page SEO (or willingness to learn)

• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Word & working within Google Docs

This is a full-time position.
