About the Role:
Want to broaden your copywriting experience with a growing company? Excited to write marketing copy for multiple brands? You’ll get to write marketing emails, blog articles, and more. You’ll work closely with and be strongly supported by the Senior Copywriter/Content Strategist. You’ll have opportunities to interact with and support the Email Marketing Manager, the Digital Marketing/SEO Manager and the Director of Marketing and Brand Strategy on one of the most exciting brands.
This is a Part-Time Remote position (~20 hours/week; half of which should fall within M-F 9-5pm PST).
Copywriting Intern Responsibilities:
- Be able to listen to and incorporate feedback.
- Understand the goals of a project, take direction well, and ask questions when you need clarity.
- Research: Research relevant topical information for blog articles.
- Email Writing: Compose marketing emails that convey relevant information in a concise, accurate, and compelling manner.Â
- Content Writing: Take part in weekly topic brainstorming/assignments. Research and write 2-3 articles (300-1000 words) targeting assigned topics.
- Editing/Review: Potentially read 2-3 articles from other authors/week. Suggest edits for content and SEO optimization.Â
- SEO Optimization: Schema for 2-3 articles / week. Alt text for images. Meta descriptions.
- Other digital marketing duties as required.
Preferred Experience, Skills, and Abilities in a Copywriting Intern:
- Enrolled in college full-time at the undergraduate level or a certificate program from an accredited university.
- Preferred Majors: Marketing, Journalism, or English Literature
- Demonstrated knowledge of copywriting, article research, and fact-checking (coursework, career, portfolio, etc.)
- Strong writing/editing skills adhering to an established tone
- Ability to present concepts and creatives, respond to revision requests, and offer suggestions for improvement
- Desire to collaborate
- Enthusiasm for learning new tools and techniques
