Job Summary
This position is responsible for the technical operational and engineering support of the core voice and signaling infrastructure deployed within the Southern Linc datacenters. The candidate will be required to blend IP network and telecom operations and engineering experience to install, operate and maintain mission-critical network equipment. This will require focus on Southern Linc's 4G LTE packet core, IMS and PTT systems and NFV (Network Function Virtualization) infrastructure.

Job Requirements
- A thorough understanding of VoIP fundamentals and protocols is required - including but not limited to media streaming protocols (such as SIP, SDP, RTP), network protocols (TCP/UDP, SMPP, SNPP, Diameter), and network security
- Strong Linux administration experience with Unix/Linux and/or virtualized computing technologies (VMware, Kubernetes)
- Proficiency with network traffic analysis tools (Netscout, Wireshark, etc)
- Experience with Syslog, SNMP or other network monitoring protocols and tools
- Organizational, interpersonal, project management and meeting facilitation skills
- Ability to innovate, react quickly, and work independently
- Scripting skills (Python, Perl, Bash, etc)
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer Engineering degree from an ABET accredited institution or Computer Science degree
- 4 years of experience in Telecommunications and Network Infrastructure
- 2 years of experience working with LTE, VoIP, IMS, Mission Critical PTT and/or messaging systems (including SMS, MMS, short codes, etc.)
- Insider Threat Program (ITP) security clearance, required
- Knowledgeable in the architecture and standards of 4G LTE, IMS, Push-to-talk, and/or VoLTE technologies including signaling, KPIs and best-practices
- In depth knowledge of voice interconnection connectivity to the PSTN via SIP Peering
- Excellent troubleshooting skills, including root-cause analysis of network issues
- Experience with carrier voice deployments, roaming and traffic engineering
- Understanding of LTE QoS mechanisms
- Knowledge of cyber security best-practices in relation to infrastructure segmentation and IMS communications- including (Firewalls, SBCs and DEAs)
- Design, install and operationally maintain voice, messaging, applications and core network infrastructure - keep systems up to date, monitor performance, project capacity needs, and troubleshoot issues
- Create and maintain technical documentation and standard operating procedures
- Work with Southern Linc customer care and Network Operations Center as next level escalation for issues
- Work with IT Security during security assessments or to remediate identified issues
- Management of issues and tickets and participate in rotating an on-call schedule with other members of the team, including nights and weekends
