The Role 

We are seeking a highly analytical, detail oriented professional to join the team as a Core Operations Associate in our Miami office. You will be working with an experienced Operations team to implement best in class operational policies and procedures. You will have a keen attention to detail, a data integrity mindset and be someone who thrives off learning new skills and challenging yourself. You will be a natural team player who can use their strong interpersonal skills to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication. The candidate would own some of the unique operational challenges inherent problem solving and bring solid experience and creative solutions to the team.                                                                                                                                                                                                    

What you’ll do

The individual will work very closely with other Core Operations team members to assist with day-to-day duties. Some of the key responsibilities are:

  • Work with Operations team to implement best in class operational policies and procedures
  • Support daily T+1 reconciliation process; working with Administrator, Prime Brokers and Third-Party service providers to research and resolve trade, position, cash, and settlement breaks.
  • Cash Management activities, such as cash reconciliations, funding, debit/credit interest, and items of the like while working with Portfolio Finance and Fund Accounting teams.
  • Liaise with various business units within Schonfeld especially Fund Accounting and Technology to implement best practices, standardize, and automate.
  • Assist in team projects: testing, research, and requirement gathering in efforts to build fully scalable and efficient processes.
  • OTC cash settlement and Bank Debt process and reconciliation
  • As a member of the team you will be an instrumental part in defining new procedures, recommending improvements and completing new projects.

What you’ll bring

What you need:

  • Product Knowledge with Credit/Fixed Income/Swaps/OTC/Bank Debt/Equities/Futures and FX
  • Past track record for process and system improvements
  • Positive mindset and ability to work effectively in a global team
  • Experience working with major PBs, FAs and executing brokers
  • Self-Manageable and must be a team player
  • 3-5 years in operations at a hedge fund; buy-side experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Business/Finance or related field
  • Self-driven, entrepreneurial, and excellent in problem solving
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and working with large amounts of data.

We’d love if you had:

  • Experience working in a multi strategy, multi PM fund structure
  • System knowledge of Enfusion, Geneva, and/or Jira
  • VBA or SQL knowledge

The base pay for this role is expected to be between $90,000and $105,000. The expected base pay range is based on information at the time this post was generated. This role may also be eligible for other forms of compensation such as a performance bonus and a competitive benefits package. Actual compensation for the successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of factors such as skills, qualifications, and experience.
