Core Systems Engineer Job Description

As a Core Systems Engineer at CoverMyMeds, you help create solutions that make our healthcare system work more efficiently and effectively in order to help millions of patients receive their prescription medications every year. You're the expert at creating highly-available systems and planning for scale as we continue to grow. You proactively propose solutions and improvements to ensure that our core infrastructure is always running at peak efficiency. You work with everyone from the technical side to the operations side with endless opportunities to take on responsibility, mentor and continue learning.

Our Tech Stack:

Windows, Linux, Azure, Veeam, VMware, Nimble Storage, Cohesity, Citrix VDI, HPE Synergy

What You'll Do:

• Proactively help us continue scaling:
  • Cloud: Migrate appropriate workloads to Azure
  • Storage: Plan for storage capacity, safely move existing storage to Azure and reallocate on-premises storage
  • Backups: Enhance our availability by contributing to backup projects and tooling
• Own general maintenance, such as patching servers and updating firmware
• Jump in as needed, wearing multiple hats and cross-training with the team

About You:

• 3+ years of systems engineering experience:
  • Working in a Windows environment
  • Utilizing VMware
  • Capacity planning for storage
  • Working with backup tools
• Thrive in a collaborative environment, pairing on work and picking up a variety of responsibilities
• Adaptable to changing priorities and understanding diverse stakeholder's infrastructure needs
• Desire to empathetically share and receive feedback and knowledge to help everyone keep improving
