Position Summary

The Operations Support Specialist is a position with a wide variety and varying degree of responsibilities, projects, and challenges for those with a passion for communication and an inquisitive, creative, solution-oriented mindset. The position is responsible for an array of communications related projects across multiple electronic, digital, and conventional platforms ranging from customer communications to content creation to creative design. The role has a far-reaching impact across the organization, a platform for visibility and growth from within, and the potential for interaction with all the Company’s divisions. This position reports to the Operations Support Supervisor.

Essential Functions

  • Thoroughly research customer appeals and complaints and present your findings to determine the appropriate course of action for resolution
  • Assist in continued evolution of Supplemental Division’s electronic and digital communication strategy focusing on success in engaging current and potential customer base
  • Communicate with customers using various methods, channels, and styles; including short, conversational messages and longer, formal communications
  • Assist in maintaining archive of digital and electronic communications containing pertinent requests and approvals
  • Assist in developing, and ensuring adherence to; the Company’s style guidelines, branding, and standards while ensuring they simultaneously meet business needs and objectives, as well as complying with state and federal requirements
  • Assist in the copy and creative development of business proposals, results presentations, training materials, and other traditional communications
  • Assist in various other projects designed to improve the efficiency and efficacy of the Company’s divisions
  • Edit, proofread, and format written material

Experience and Education

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience in electronic and digital communication, digital and electronic marketing, technical writing, written presentation of scientific and other types of research, journalism, communications, English, or equivalent business or corporate writing experience
  • One or more years of relevant experience, advanced education, or training

  • Ability to effectively communicate complex issues in written form to internal and external customers
  • Ability to communicate complex issues in written and verbal form to management and operational personnel
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret insurance policy language and regulations
  • Ability to be flexible, multitask, and shift priorities on a continuing basis while meeting deadlines
  • Able to work both independently and within a team environment
  • Ability to lift 10 pounds
