Corporate Accounting Analyst/Associate

Position Overview

Our Financial Controller team is central to the firm’s broader Finance function and is focused on firm transactions and controllership.

The Analyst / Associate reports directly to the Management Company Controller and will support the ongoing management of accounting and financial reporting for Atlas Management Company. This individual will be tasked with the quality execution of the day-to-day core accounting responsibilities, driving improvements in processes and reporting, and engaging in problem-solving. We are seeking a talented and dedicated professional with the ability to be part of a versatile team and a strong desire to learn and develop in their career.           

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger analysis. Focus areas will include Accounts Payable, Bank Reconciliations, Expense Accruals, and Payroll.
• Process analytical review on Management Company legal entities and create reporting documentation to support Financial Controller team control review of the month-end close process.
• Support creation of monthly detailed Management Reporting.
• Facilitate quarterly financial statements, support the annual audit and provide information for various US and Foreign tax filings.
• Support ongoing system implementation, strategic enhancements, and process improvements required for ongoing development of the function.
• Address ad hoc requests as needed.

Qualification and Experience

• CPA preferred.
• Public accounting experience preferred.
• College degree with a competitive GPA and demonstrated math or analytical ability.
• 3-4 years progressive accounting experience.
• Previous Hedge Fund/PE Style/Financial Services experience a plus.
• Strong understanding of USGAAP principles and financial reporting standards
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail
• Effective communication skills: including the ability to synthesize and see the big picture.
• Ability to juggle more than one project at a time and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
