The Corporate Accounting Manager will be detail orientated with strong analytical acumen and a drive to build process and automation into the corporate accounting function to scale with our growing business. Reporting to the Controller, this position is responsible for ensuring the integrity of accounting operations by providing accounting process knowledge, technical expertise and business collaboration, with a strong desire to improve monthly close processes and controls. The successful candidate is someone who can be a strong mentor and coach but who enjoys rolling up their sleeves when necessary.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable generating frequent financial reports for senior management. They should track financial information in a well-organized manner and assist the Controller in all aspects related to finance at the organization. This candidate should be comfortable analyzing balance sheets, statements of operations, and cash flow statements. Working cross functionally to ensure a robust internal control environment exists with regard to initiation of purchase requisitions, expense recognition, revenue and receiving cutoffs, cycle counting of inventory (root cause analysis), etc.

Essential Job Functions

  • Supervise operational accounting staff personnel and provide training as needed.
  • Manage monthly closing of general ledger, posting of monthly accounting transactions, ensures accuracy of monthly financial data.
  • Manage general ledger accounting reconciliation process and assist with development of account reconciliation policy.
  • Assist financial reporting manager with External Auditors preparation schedules.
  • Manage accounting over inventory process and cross-collaborate with Warehouse and Supply Chain team throughout the month to ensure accuracy of inventory.
  • Collaborate with Warehouse Manager on timing of critical inventory count ahead of external audit.
  • Provide accounting assistance on ad-hoc accounting analysis and projects when needed.
  • Collaborate with VP-Finance & Accounting to institute a more robust close calendar with the goal of achieving a shorter accounting close cycle.
  • Ownership of Intacct Accounting System and collaborate with Controller and FP&A on Intacct dimension improvements where possible to provide additional reporting to the business.
  • Conduct revenue and cost of revenue analysis quarterly.
  • Ensure key accounting process documentations for operational accounting are kept current.
  • Collaborate with other Finance personnel on system appraisal reporting timing and ensure operational accounting processes are developed to manage changes in system fair value.
  • Manage SAP Concur expense management system.
  • Assist with critical projects aimed at improving the overall productivity of the accounting function to produce accurate results in a timely manner.
  • Maintain responsibility for routine calculations of accruals.
  • Advise staff on handling of non-routine transactions and seek advice from Controller and/or the VP-Finance on such transactions as needed.
  • Work in partnership with the Financial Reporting & Consolidation manager to resolve consolidation challenges in order to produce quarterly consolidated financial statements.

Critical skills the candidate must possess include being highly organized, proactive, collaborative, critical thinker, adaptable, possess a sense of urgency, and detailed nature. The senior accountant must be able to work effectively under pressure due to inflexible deadlines mandated by the SEC or other outside parties and rapidly changing conditions and/or requirements.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and at least 5 years of related experience.
  • CPA designation required.
  • Stong knowledge of Sage Intacct required.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) required with ability to run V-Lookup, pivot tables, etc.
  • Working knowledge of Google platform (Google Sheet, Google docs, etc.)
