About the role:
The Corporate Controller will report directly to the CFO and will lead the global accounting function. The Global Controller position will lead, drive, and direct the global accounting functions and reporting including monthly close of the general ledger, consolidation, and reporting of financial results, lead an annual audit, optimization of processes and internal controls and building, managing, and developing the accounting team. The successful candidate will be able to adapt to a high-growth organization to drive operational execution. The role will have significant interaction with all executives and functional leaders.
Here's what you'll be working on:
- Monthly/Quarterly Close: Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of account reconciliations, analysis and presentation of the monthly consolidated financial close. Additionally, assist in the preparation of the financial reporting.
- General Accounting: Manage general ledger and all sub-ledgers. Maintain the company's overall system of accounts, books, and records on all company transactions and assets.
- Manage and implement technical accounting and tax pronouncements and stay current and adopt all new technical accounting pronouncements.
- Audit: Manage the day-to-day audit process including the preparation of support, Financial Statements and interactions with the external audit firm.
- Policies, Procedures and Internal Controls: Work with the team to develop and implement accounting policies and procedures as required with a focus on driving efficiencies through effective and efficient use of our accounting systems.
- Financial Management: Work closely with FP&A to manage the financial results of the business. Provide oversight and support for the management of department level operating expenses.
- Manage: Maintain financial staff and consultants to ensure appropriate resources to complete work in a timely manner.
- Manage our global tax and treasury operations.
- Other: Assist the management team on the preparation of Board packages, special projects and documentation/automation of processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting and ledger systems.
- 7+ years of relevant experience in finance-related roles and public accounting, previous Controller or Accounting Manager experience.
- Demonstrated ability to consistently work within fixed timeframes.
- Strong understanding of GAAP accounting.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint required.
- Experience with NetSuite or a similar system preferred.
- Experience in a start-up or scale-up environment required.
