Corporate Controller
Job Description
We are actively seeking a Corporate Controller to join the team tasked with supervising all accounting and financial functions. As the Controller at Agility, you will be the leader of the accounting team, leading a team of accounting, collections, and AR & AP professionals. You are instrumental in shaping the financial success of the organization. This is a hybrid role with 2-days onsite and 3-days remote a week,
In this role you will:
- Oversee the organization's daily accounting functions
- Manage the accounting, tax, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash collections
- Lead, inspire and develop a team of 5, provide feedback and growth opportunities, and hold team accountable. Provide mentoring, coaching, and guidance for direct reports
- Manage the payroll process in conjunction with the HR team
- Partner with CFO & Executive Leadership Team on operational analysis for financial performance and potential internal control improvements
- Work closely with FP&A team on reporting efforts related to senior leadership presentations, budgeting, monthly forecasting, and reporting of actuals
- Working with executive team to guide the organization's financial decisions
- Define, establish, and manage month-end close, consolidation and monthly financial statement preparation, and other necessary processes
- Manage annual audit and 401k audits, serving as primary contact and subject matter expert for external auditors
- Oversee regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance
- Oversee proper accounting treatment of all transactions in accordance with GAAP and ensures consistent application among all operating divisions
- Responsible for preparation and presentation of financial updates, analysis, and content for certain meetings for the Board of Directors
- Help identify and implement system and process enhancements to improve operational efficiencies across the Company
- Ad hoc analysis and other special projects as assigned
Requirements:
- 5-8 years of relevant experience as a Controller
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA preferred but not required
- Strong technical accounting skills
- Demonstrated success building relationships and partnering with cross functional internal and external stakeholders
- Comfortability working with and presenting to the Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors
- Ability to assess, recommend, and implement opportunities for process change and improvement
- Experience working with a subscription or SaaS based revenue model
- An understanding of the payroll process
- Execute to a high standard and act with a sense of urgency with the end result in mind
- Able to follow through to deliver exceptional results
- Strong people leader with proven ability to mentor high-performing teams as well as experience and comfort managing a hybrid team (both in person and remotely)
- A player-coach mentality
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills
- Demonstrable GAAP expertise
- Experience with privately held companies backed by private equity is preferred and helpful
