Summary
Karbon is looking for a Corporate Controller with established experience in a dynamic and high growth environment to lead the global accounting function as the company accelerates through its next phase of growth.
Reporting to the CFO, the Corporate Controller will be responsible for the global accounting operations, tax compliance, payroll operations and the design and maintenance of systems and controls that will allow Karbon to scale to $100M+ in ARR.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and lead a dedicated team of accounting professionals that will be responsible for all general ledger, tax, treasury management, payroll operations and revenue recognition activities.
- Successfully oversee all aspects of global accounting
- Drive accurate and timely financial close.
- Assist with internal and external financial reporting and compliance.
- Interact with cross functional colleagues and executives to provide meaningful information to evaluate operations and plans.
- Manage federal, state and international tax compliance processes.
- Effectively manage key service providers including external auditors, banks, tax firms, payroll providers, etc.
- Develop and maintain effective accounting policies, monthly close process and ongoing financial reporting.
- Effectively present results to key stakeholders.
- Support the executive team in driving best practices across the company in corporate governance, ethical standards and sustainable business practices.
What We’d Love to See
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including progressive experience with a multinational technology company.
- Experience managing accounting team for a company with similar size (or larger) and complexity
- Excellent leadership, planning and team building skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, experience in effectively communicating key financial data to senior management, board or other outside partners
- Demonstrated ability to lead effective teams
- Detailed command of global GAAP reporting requirements & experience with ASC606
- Strong executional capability, a can-do attitude, ability to shift priorities quickly and effectively
- Proven ability to implement scalable processes and systems in a high-growth start-up corporate environment
- Knowledge of software and hardware accounting practices and business models preferred
- Proven leadership and commitment to recruiting, mentoring and training a diverse international team
- Demonstrated record of success in positions of increasing responsibility
- Reputation for financial acumen, business judgement and analytical ability
- Professional accounting qualification, CPA and bachelor’s in Accountancy

Please note that only after you have exhausted your four weeks of annual leave accrual, you will be eligible to extend into a fifth week deficit that will be forgiven annually.
