CONTROLLER:Rise Construction and Rise Group Investments is a thriving commercial construction, real estate development, and asset management company seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Controller to join our dynamic team.
As our Controller, you will play a vital role in managing the financial operations and ensuring accurate and timely recording of transactions. If you have a keen eye for detail, a strong background in finance, and a passion for leveraging technology to enhance efficiency, we want to hear from you!
The right person thrives in a fast-paced environment and is a seasoned problem-solver. You will be responsible for leading initiatives to improve our accounting department and help bridge gaps between projects and accounting.
Responsibilities:
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Be extremely proficient in QuickBooks Pro, Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Experience in construction accounting and job costing
• Be highly organized, accurate, detail oriented, and able to multi-task
• Have excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written
• Have the ability to work under little or no supervision
• Be proactive and have problem solving skills
• Be pleasant, outgoing and professional
• Be willing to step outside of the job description as needed
• Ability to quickly and efficiently learn new software, forms and documents
DAY-TO-DAY ACTIVITIES
Day to day activities include, but are not limited to:
• Full cycle Accounts Payable – Code and enter vendor expense invoices, check runs, contact vendors, resolve issues
• Review initial contracts for accounting/ billing components: fees, billing instructions, etc
• Assist in processing accounts receivable for multiple active jobs.
• Responsible for collection activities such as sending follow-up inquiries, negotiating with past-due accounts, and maintaining cash receipts
• Sort and post customer payments (cash, checks, credit card, and ACH) via accounting software
• Prepare bank deposits
• Assist in preparing weekly payroll and monthly commission / incentive calculations
• Manage employee timesheets
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts
• Review and process expenses reports
• Prepare month-end reconciliations: bank, payroll, AR / AP / Inventory/ Intercompany / Fixed assets)
• Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expense closing journal entries and adjustments
• Prepare monthly financial reports for all entities
• Assist in month-end and year-end closings and preparation of journal entries and various roll forwards
• Analyze and explain variances against budget in general ledger accounts
• Prepare W2s and 1099s
• Enhance company efficiencies and maintain internal financial controls and procedures
• Assist with the preparation and coordination of the audit process
• Support the CEO as needed on the annual financial review /audit as well as third-party examinations; (Bank, Workers Compensation, Asset Appraisals and Sales & Use Tax Audits)
• Assist in vendor management and communications.
• Assist project managers in administrative details with past and current projects.
• Management of multiple entity books.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
5 to 10 years in the construction business or related field
Accounting or business degree
5 years of knowledge of accounting, data, and administrative management practices and procedures

• Quickbooks Online
• BuilderTrend
• Bluebeam
We are looking for new controller in the commercial construction industry. Must be experienced. We need a strong attention to detail so that things do not get missed. We need individuals looking for a new opportunity and are a team player to assist in getting the job done at the end of the day. The perfect candidate is an individual who is a self-starter and is self-motivated. Bilingual is a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
