Experian is looking for a team-oriented attorney with 5 to 10 years of relevant experience for an in-house legal position to provide legal support for its North American businesses.

Job Description

This position will primarily provide transactional, corporate, regulatory and other legal support for the day-to-day operations of Experian North America’s Business Information Solutions and business area and general corporate functions. Experian’s Business Information Solutions business provides data and solutions to small businesses to make smarter decisions, from lending and credit risk to preventing fraud.

Responsibilities will include drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements, managing registrations, minutes and various other corporate matters for Experian’s many legal entities, advising in risk assessment and regulatory reviews for new products, and providing advice on compliance with laws, including consumer protection and data privacy laws. The successful candidate should have experience in transactional matters and financial services regulatory experience. Most importantly, the successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to learn and adapt to the requirements of the role. This position will report to a senior attorney in the North America the Law Department.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant legal experience in a large law firm and/or in-house setting.
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • The highest standards for thoroughness and diligence in handling legal matters
  • Experience in handling matters for financial services, privacy, healthcare, or other highly regulated industries
  • Ability to work with little supervision, check ego at the door, and be an active member of a congenial legal team and work well with non-legal professionals
  • Ability to understand complex business issues, develop practical, problem-solving strategies and effectively communicate in a positive manner
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
  • License to practice law in relevant jurisdictions

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay range for this position is listed above. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors such as job-related skills, experience and education. This position is also eligible for a variable pay opportunity and a comprehensive benefits package which includes health, life and disability insurance, generous paid time off including paid parental and family care leave, an employee stock purchase plan and a 401(k) plan with a company match.
