Corporate Counsel

Vast is looking for a highly skilled Corporate Counsel to join our Legal Team. As a crucial member of the Legal Team in a rapidly growing company and expanding industry, you will handle a wide variety of legal matters from space station contracts, human spaceflight regulations, and cutting edge legal tech implementation.

Responsibilities:

• Provide legal guidance on contracts, internal policies and procedures, and requirements under relevant statutory and regulatory authorities across a variety of subject areas 
• Collaborate cross-functionally across the company (including with the engineering, manufacturing and supply chain, and sales teams) to achieve key business objectives and provide strategic, business-minded, and solutions-focused legal advice
• Work with a small, collaborative legal team to solve novel, complex and challenging issues company-wide in a rapidly growing environment

Minimum Requirements:

• 3+ years of professional experience in a legal counsel role in-house or at a law firm
• Juris Doctor with admission to practice law in a state bar in good standing

• Experience building a highly efficient commercial function at a rapidly growing company
• Proven ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and schedules with ease and grace
• Ability to simplify complex legal concepts into straightforward and concise explanations
• Experience implementing efficient policies, processes and procedures
• Comfortable operating outside of areas of expertise and in uncharted legal territory
• Excellent communication, analytical, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
• Self-starter with excellent time-management and prioritization skills
• Familiarity with the aerospace industry and its unique legal challenges
• Ability to identify and mitigate legal risks while enabling business objectives
• Demonstrated leadership and management skills
