Your Role
As a Part-Time Corporate Counsel (contract) at Zip you will be responsible for reviewing drafting and negotiating various legal agreements and contracts that are critical to Zipβs revenue deals and other business operations. You will work closely with the sales product and executive teams to ensure that the company's legal interests are protected while facilitating smooth business transactions.
You Will

Review draft and negotiate customer contracts including software license agreements service agreements and other revenue-related contracts.

Provide legal guidance and support on a wide range of commercial transactions including partnerships vendor agreements and other business contracts.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand the business requirements and provide practical legal solutions.

Ensure compliance with applicable laws regulations and industry standards.

Assist in the development and implementation of contract management processes and best practices.

Provide legal advice and support on a variety of corporate matters as needed.
Qualifications
-
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the relevant state bar association.

4+ years of experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts preferably in the technology or software industry.

Strong understanding of contract law intellectual property law and other relevant legal areas.

Excellent drafting negotiation and communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and provide practical legal advice.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Experience with SaaS business models and revenue recognition principles is a plus.

Experience working with startups or in fast-paced environments is a plus.
