Corporate Event Manager

Then our open Corporate Event Manager position might be a great fit for you!

As our Corporate Event Manager you will be responsible for researching, planning, organizing, and executing of national trade shows, regional trade shows, and customer events. To maximize growth in the role, you should be organized, possess excellent communication skills, willing to and passionate about collaborating with other teams/departments, capable of finding solutions to problems, be obsessed about the little things being done right, and able to pivot quickly as needed.  

• Lead event strategy: Research industry events and make knowledgeable recommendations on opportunities for our participation. Develop and execute an event marketing strategy that drives new business, engages current customers, and elevates the Lightspeed brand.
• Execute event strategy: Upon approval, register for events, secure booth space, and manage the logistical execution necessary to ensure successful events. Manage relationship with local venues to host parties or dinners in conjunction with tradeshows. Maintain trade show and event calendars and budget
• Secure speaking opportunities: Manage our portfolio of show presentations and presenters, and secure speaking opportunities for the organizations at various tradeshows. Collaborate with team to ensure promotion and follow-up. 
• Be the events go-to: Lead internal communications, pre-event kick-off meetings, and post-event reviews to ensure we’re a well-oiled machine and continually improving. When coworkers think about Lightspeed events, they think about you. 
• Logistics leader: Manage inventory, organization and ordering of promotional materials for shows, marketing promotions, and shipping materials. Ensure booth and similar materials are shipped and on-site as needed.  

  ABOUT YOU  

• 3-4 years of professional event marketing and management experience, specifically experience with corporate trade shows and events. 
• Passionate about event and obsessed with creating wow-worthy experiences for internal and external audiences 
• Approach challenges with resilience to come up with creative and effective solutions – at events it’s not “if” there’s a challenge, it’s when and which one. 
• Exceptional project management and organizational skills
• Excellent communicator with peers and executives, whether in-person or virtually 
• Must be self-driven and motivated; able to work independently as well as part of a team 
• Eager to contribute new ideas 
• Available for travel to live events
• Excited to apply your event superpowers to advancing student safety and educational effectiveness
