Role
The Chief Administrative Officer is a key senior position within the global Finance organization, responsible for the team's operational strategy and effectiveness. Must possess drive and ability to carve the path of this newly created role. Emphasis will be placed on risk management, control and oversight for the team and joint responsibility for setting, implementing, achieving and tracking the results of the team's strategic priorities. The successful individual will build and maintain vital relationships with the Finance Executive Leadership Team, Corporate Risk Management, corporate functions and other business and corporate group CAO's.
- Build out a BAU Risk Management function for Finance - focusing on the BAU execution, quality review and monitoring of compliance with Risk Management policies, including BC/DR, RCSA, IT Logical Access, Third Party Vendor management
- Executive Leadership meeting agendas, administration and execution
- All Staff meeting agendas, administration and execution
- Finance Liaison for organization-wide programs/initiatives and provide appropriate back and forth updates
- Other programs benefiting the success and development of the team
Depending on the candidate's level of experience and the needs of the role, position may or may not be managing a team.
Principal Responsibilities
Leadership and Management
- Provide strategic thinking, thought leadership, and guidance on identifying key risks and assessing the design and operating effectiveness of the controls supporting the Corporate Finance team.
- Plan, oversee, and direct the activities of the Corporate Finance team to achieve the organization' objectives, and for timely reporting on control, audit and regulatory matters to management and appropriate governance bodies.
- Establish strong working relationships and communications with key stakeholders globally
- Maintain active involvement with executive and oversight committees, including as a member of such as deemed appropriate
Operational
- Ensure that deliverables are issued accurately, completely, and timely to stakeholders
- Develop and review monthly metrics and ensure key messages are communicated to stakeholders
- Demonstrate a deep analytical approach by connecting the dots and identifying trends of activities across the business unit/corporate function
- Communicate and support a point of view to senior management/stakeholders for challenge and discussion
- Assist in preparation of presentations to the Board, Audit Committee and company management
- Taking action to learn and develop skills/knowledge proactively, and managing others to develop
- Conduct and/or manage special projects and ad hoc requests to support the leadership team
Required Skills
- 7 + years of Business experience
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline is required, advanced degree (e.g., MBA, JD) preferred
- Solid base of Finance knowledge
- Broad industry knowledge, financial acumen and regulatory requirements
- Consistent track record of Exceptional performance in Finance
- Strong executive presence, excellent oral and written communication skills, and ability to negotiate and collaborate
- Demonstrated ability to influence without control and lead in a matrix structure, moving multiple initiatives forward and building strong partnerships with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
- Independent thinker with ability to quickly grasp issues and creatively solve problems
Required Competencies
- Ability to develop a strategic plan and drive through tactical deliverables
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, leadership and organizational skills are required
- Proven ability to build relationships and lead influence and motivate teams at the Finance leadership and other leadership tables across the organization in order to ensure that the slate of work is established, understood, supported and completed
- Monitor and/or deliver on key audits, remediations or regulatory requirements
- Ability to proactively assess issues, identify solutions and problem solve
- Ability to challenge and influence stakeholders of differing viewpoints to reach consensus
- Can gather and interpret data and information in different forms and / or states of maturity, and synthesize into a clear message
- Ability to establish executable work plans and establish KPIs/OKRs to measure success of the organization
- Must be based in Chicago with ability to work in a hybrid way but in office requirement of 50% or more
