Cost Accountant

Responsibilities

Job Description:

The Cost Accountant will work with the finance and accounting team to support the headquarters cost center owners. The primary focus would be general ledger coding during the monthly accounting close cycle and monitoring cost center expenditures against annual budgets onsite at the HQ office in Tampa, FL.

Job Duties Include (but not limited to):

• Work closely with the Controller during the month-end closing activities to ensure costs are recorded properly to the appropriate indirect cost centers
• Work with accounts payable and purchasing to monitor expenditures and commitments against budgeted totals
• Work closely with cost center owners to assist in the preparation of the annual budgets
• Work with indirect cost center owners to monitor financial activities in Deltek Costpoint and benchmark against budgeted totals; assist with the development of quarterly financial execution briefings to executive management on cost center performance
• Ensure that all overhead, general and administrative, and other indirect budgeted financial reporting requirements are accomplished on an accurate and timely basis
• Lead development of reporting/metrics for indirect cost centers to measure success across the IEX headquarters

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience:

• 3+ years of general finance or accounting experience or 1-2 years of finance or accounting experience in a government contracting setting
• Technical proficiency in MS Office, with an emphasis on Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Due to US Government Contract Requirements, only US Citizens are eligible for this role.

Desired Skills:

• Preferred: experience in Deltek CostPoint or similar (Unanet)

Education & Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
