Cost Accountant

The Cost Accountant will be responsible for analyzing and managing cost expenditures, maintaining accurate cost accounting systems, and providing detailed reports to aid in financial decision-making. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. 

How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:

• Develop and maintain the cost accounting system, documents, and records
• Analyze and recommend costs and cost-saving measures
• Prepare and complete internal cost audits and comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

(GAAP)

• Assist in determining and calculating fixed and variable costs (e.g., salaries, rent, insurance, raw materials)
• Review and analyze standard and actual costs for inaccuracies
• Prepare budgeting reports and cost forecasts (monthly, quarterly, and annual)
• Assist in month-end and year-end financial close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reports
• Conduct physical inventories and monitor the cycle count program
• Provide management with reports that specify and compare factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Experience 3+ in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Experience recording standard and actual costing
• Proven work experience as a Cost Accountant, Cost Analyst, or similar role
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and GAAP
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Excellent report-writing, communication, and IT skills

Above and Beyond Qualifications that will distinguish you:

• Certified Public Accountant/Certified Management Accountant
• Experience with accounting software - Plex ERP
• Familiarity with cost management systems and data accumulation processes
• Experience with international accounting standards and multi-department financial analysis
