POSITION DETAILS

Position Summary: CIRCOR Industrial Pumps NA, headquartered in Monroe, North Carolina is searching for a Cost Accountant to join its team. The Monroe facility houses Pumps North America's management as well as one of our most dynamic manufacturing facilities. The Cost Accountant will function as a business partner with plant and financial management to effectively manage and control the plant operations and accounting. Be accountable for plant level responsibilities including cost accounting, inventory analysis, management reporting, forecasting, profitability analysis and internal controls.

Principal Activities:

• Serves as a business partner with Operations to support business plan and provide financial guidance.
• Submit all financial transactions, transmissions, and reporting on a timely and accurate basis.
• Ensure accuracy of cycle counts and reported results. Investigate and explain significant differences.
• Analyze month end and month to date financial and statistical data to understand the drivers for variances from budget/forecast/prior year and develop improvement plans with operations.
• Provide analysis of manufacturing statistical data to understand, explain, and improve the performance of the manufacturing plant.
• Review labor reporting and cost, material costs, manufacturing overhead, distribution cost, returns and inventory levels.
• Document and understand ERP / MRP systems, hardware, and reporting conventions and serve as the SME for inventory and costing modules.
• Assist in the annual standard cost update.
• Analyze potential excess and obsolete inventory items.
• Reconcile all inventory accounts monthly.
• Liaison with division/corporate accounting, internal and external auditors as required.
• Assist in the completion of special projects.
• Support process improvements to improve efficiency and accuracy of financials.
• Ensure GAAP is followed consistently.
• Support in the preparation of the month end reporting package to senior management.

Education & Experience

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.
• Successfully perform duties with a minimum of direction or guidance; must be self-directed.
