Cost Analyst

Advantest America is the North American subsidiary of Advantest Corporation, the world's largest provider of Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) to the semiconductor industry. For over six decades, Advantest has led the way in developing new and innovative test and handling solutions for the global electronics industry. Advantest is seeking for an experienced Cost Analyst This is an on-site role in our Irvine, CA office, even during COVID, as we have been deemed essential.

Essential Duties Responsibilities:

  • Address supply chain resilience as a strategic development topic.
  • Work with Contracts Administrator, Supply Chain, and Operations to achieve the best contractual terms conditions.
  • Manage assurance of supply including buffer strategies and Supplier Managed Inventory program.
  • Add value to the business with a target of improvement of the total cost, cash and quality of the delivered goods and services, that will have a direct impact on business results.
  • Lead resolution of lifetime buys and discontinuance efforts of material from strategic supply base.
  • Develop and maintain strong collaboration and communication with stakeholders at all levels, to be able to understand the environment and support stakeholders in driving business outcomes.
  • Collaborate with appropriate finance, compliance, legal, and other subject matter experts as required.
  • Perform COGS and Margin Analysis across Programs, factoring in PPV and ECN changes and identify areas for production cost reduction and increase product profitability.
  • Provide reporting necessary for sales team to estimate new product and service costing, and/or program managers to estimate cost changes as an effect of changes in product designs and services.
  • Provide and analyze in-house production reports and schedules, operating costs, machines usage and downtime, and recommends cost savings.
  • Analyze expenses and cost transactions; ensure that transactions are recorded accurately and assigned to the appropriate projects and departments.
  • Provide detailed financial analysis and reports of expenses, including breakdowns of project costs, forecasts of remaining expenses, and opportunities to increase efficiency.
  • Conduct market research as needed to recommend changes to pricing or business models.
  • Prepare periodic cost reconciliation reports tracking data such as changing labor and supply costs.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Requirements,Education skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or engineering.
  • Minimum of 8 years professional experience including 6 years specific to supply chain management coupled with a technical undergraduate degree or related technical discipline.
  • Competencies in earned value management systems, risk management, integrated master planning/scheduling, and project accounting.
  • Semiconductor experience (Preferred).
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Thorough understanding of cost accounting principles and procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software as well as accounting software.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to work with all levels of employees and to effectively manage vendor relations.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time.
  • An ability to be productive and successful in an intense work environment.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • This is an on-site role in our Irvine/Lake Forest, CA office.
