Role Summary
Cost Estimator/Sr based on level of experience.
Responsible for the development of all cost issues related to seating programs. Interacts with manufacturing facilities, engineering, program management and account managers to establish estimates of costs on standard and special parts or products.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Analyzes all quote packages and develops costing on all components contained within the package. Works closely with quote team, plant, engineering and purchasing personnel to establish required cost data. β’ Verifies accuracy and finalizes quote packages. Presents information to the program team and/or Cost Estimating Manager prior to customer submission.β’ Develops and maintains cost reduction programs and establishes reporting formats based on customer requirements. Participates in setting targets and pricing to improve margins. β’ Contributes to VA/VE initiatives.β’ Tracks, audits and compares actual tooling expenditures to the established budget as needed and reports the status on a regular basisβ’ Provides cost impacts for engineering changes through the add/delete process. Tracks the standard costed bill of material that consists of: material cost, freight cost, labor cost, burden costs, and all customer formulated value-added.β’ Supports and justifies cost/pricing structure to the customer as required, under the direction of the department manager and with the coordination of Sales department.β’ Provides purchasing with Target Cost Goals. Supports purchasing in evaluating vendor quotes.β’ Maintains customer submitted pricing data as required.β’ Supports Internal / External Audit efforts regarding ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949 Certification for remote site location (Group Office).β’ Supports the requirements as detailed in Standard Operating Procedure 8000 (Quality Management System).β’ Ensure employees work in the manner consistent with the organizations established objectives and targets utilizing protective equipment, devices, measures, and procedures as promulgated by state and federal regulations. Establish clear goals for workplace health and safety. Complete safety talks, safety meetings, and required training occur, as defined

Education
Bachelor's Degree (or bachelor's equivalency) in accounting, finance, or engineering; or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Experience/Special Knowledge/Skills
Minimum 2 years' experience in an automotive manufacturing/engineering related environment.
Knowledge of product, design, manufacturing processes and procedures.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to successfully coordinate and complete multiple tasks within established and changing deadlines.
Strong communication skills: verbal, written and technical presentations.
Proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
Demonstrated successful performance with independent problem solving. Analytical skills to review and interpret data and make recommendations regarding costs.

No skills testing required.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
Normal amount of sitting, standing, and walking. Average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer, may require travel.
