Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced commercial litigation Counsel with broad commercial litigation experience, preferably including some experience with consumer class actions to join our team at the Nissan North Americas Headquarters in Franklin, TN

Job Description:

This counsel position will be responsible for managing litigation and pre-litigation matters across the United States involving consumer class actions and general commercial litigation. In this position, the counsel will be responsible for assigning and managing outside counsel; advising internal business clients; attending trials, hearings, and depositions as needed; recommending and implementing case strategies; managing the assigned budget for all matters; and reporting to management as appropriate on the status of matters. In addition, the senior counsel will be responsible for handling non-party subpoenas, e-discovery issues, contract review and advice, and other commercial matters that arise from time to time for a company of this size.

Minimum Qualifications
The following qualification statements reflect the minimum skills and abilities required of the qualified applicant.
1. Job Knowledge and Skill: Subject matter expertise in software and technology transactions, as well as familiarity with data licensing and protection issues. Experience with manufacturing and supply chain transactions a plus. Automotive industry experience helpful but not required. Ability to communicate legal advice effectively in both written and oral forms to all levels of management and employees. Ability to function independently to formulate and implement actions necessary to obtain desired results. Ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive matters.

2. Experience: A minimum of four-to-six years of legal experience, including experience in relevant practice area(s).

3. Education: Degree from a four-year college preferred. J.D. degree from ABA accredited law school; member of bar in state of practice.

4. Computer Skills: Knowledge of on-line legal research tools. Working knowledge of word processor, spreadsheet, other PC applications, or mainframe applications to produce non-standard, creative products.
