Counsel/Senior Counsel
Job Description
SKILLS REQUIRED include the following:
Attention to detail and accuracy; excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously; ability to establish credibility and provide solutions; and ability to provide real-time advice on business and legal issues. Must have a proven track record of direct client contact and be comfortable interacting with senior leadership.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include the following:
- Advising on various legal issues, including federal and state laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions;
- Drafting, negotiating and reviewing contracts dealing with a wide variety of subject matters;
- Managing litigation and business disputes; and
- Other duties and projects assigned by Executive Vice President and General Counsel.
DESIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Juris Doctorate with four (4) to ten (10) years of progressive legal experience with a top law firm and/or in-house. Racing and/or gaming experience helpful, but not required. Must be licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, eligible for reciprocity or otherwise eligible to obtain a limited certificate of admission to practice law in the Commonwealth of Kentucky solely for the Company under Kentucky Supreme Court Rule 2.111.
