Job Description

Go Maverick Group has a client looking for a Product Manager to join their team. The Product Manager is responsible for maintaining existing products and executing new product initiatives that satisfy the company's strategic objectives, drive revenue increases and improve margins by meeting consumer needs and protecting against competitive intrusion through innovation and differentiation. This role is also responsible for helping to manage the company's products post-launch throughout their full life cycles by working in conjunction with a cross functional team. The Product Manager will monitor changing conditions and emerging trends in the marketplace, competitive landscape and consumer behavior to direct product efforts.

SPECIFIC DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Champions strategic product initiatives through opportunity identification and quantification (business case), prioritization, ideation, development and commercialization. Ensures products are developed within deadlines to meet company and customer objectives.
  • Assists with the creation and implementation of marketing plans for each product line and supervises execution of product branding, packaging, merchandising, collateral and other communications strategies that drive tactical execution.
  • Monitors product costing and margins to minimize COGS creep.
  • Provides product support (in-person or video conference) for key customer meetings.
  • Maintains NPD tracking document to ensure timely delivery of products to market.
  • Acts as a key resource for the commercialization team.

Requirements

  • Live in NE OH with the ability to work onsite Tues - Thurs
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years of product marketing and management experience in the CPG space.
  • A highly creative individual with demonstrated success in the development and management of new products through close interface with highly creative product development teams.
  • Must be a proactive, go-getter who exhibits a sense of creativity and can develop a solid plan to execute upon.
  • Strong communication skills along with a positive attitude and a genuine desire to help, while being able to build relationships both internally and externally.
  • The natural ability to develop positive working relationships with other employees, customers and others who can influence business success.
  • Outstanding leadership skills which include written and verbal communication.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in all product management skill areas: market research, product pricing and packaging, advertising and promotion, and systems for projecting and measuring product line performance.
  • Some travel may be required
