We are hiring for a casual CPO within our St. Paul, MN campus (hospital).

Non-Competes

We understand that experienced O&P professionals may have non-compete contractual obligations that limit their ability to work in a certain area for a certain time period.

Gillette does have locations outside of the Twin Cities metro area that could allow you to join Gillette while also honoring your contract.

Compensation & Benefits

The hourly wage for this opportunity is $36.26/hour to $54.40/hour, with a median wage of $45.33/hour. Pay is dependent on several factors including relevant work experience, education, certification & licensure, and internal equity. Hourly pay just one part of the compensation package for employees. Primary Job Responsibilities

Evaluates, casts, measures, designs, fabricates, and fits all types and complexities of orthoses/ prostheses for patients resulting in a comfortable fit and a cosmetically acceptable device that fulfills prescription treatment requirements. Acts as a resource to students and individuals in residency programs.

  • Independently evaluates and provides orthoses/prostheses to patients of all ages according to department quality standards.

    • Provides evaluation information - MMT, ROM, etc.
    • Provides device specifics - Product type, style, and details.
    • Provides teaching and education information to patients and families.

  • Works directly with physicians, therapists, and other health care professionals

    • Collaborates with healthcare team to determine appropriate intervention and evaluate that set goals have been met.

  • Makes adjustments and repairs to orthoses/prostheses by utilizing proper materials, equipment, and methods.

    • Accesses tools and machinery commonly used in the O&P industry to accommodate changes and improve function and comfort.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Valid Minnesota O & P License. Individuals new to MN licensure may begin employment in a license eligible status under the supervision of another licensed CO or CPO, as allowable by law. Must obtain MN license within 90 days of hire.

    • To be eligible for MN licensure, this position must also meet certification requirements of either the American Board for Certification (ABC) in Orthotics, Prosthetics, and Pedorthics or the Board of Certification/Accreditation (BOC) and be in good standing with the certifying board.
  • Current CPR certification (BLS through American Heart Association) required, or must obtain certification within 90-days of hire

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent hand and power tool skills
  • Creative technical problem solving ability
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability and willingness to conduct educational meetings within the department and community

Gillette requires all staff to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 unless there is a Gillette-approved medical or religious exemption. New hires will be required to have at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine prior to starting employment and submit proof of 1st dose of COVID-19 vaccine prior to 1st day. Gillette also requires all employees to receive the influenza vaccine or wear an approved face mask during influenza season. The flu vaccine can be done at the time of the health clearance appointment.
