To originate commercial investment real estate loans that fall within the Business Banking market. The position will also be responsible for fee and deposit production, cross-sales and will assist Business Bankers in sales and attentive customer service to real estate investors. Loan types will include residential investment (>4 unit), commercial construction and permanent mortgages.
- Achieve all sales goals (deposit, loan, fee income, relationship and referral) through prospecting and consulting with new and existing customers, contacts with formal and informal referral sources, and community involvement. The target relationship credit exposure shall not exceed $15M
- Concentration on sales within Business Banking; to assist the Business Bankers and other Webster "sales colleagues", as appropriate, on customer calls and customer negotiations. Identify cross-sell opportunities an follow through with the appropriate business line/partners.
- To serve as the Business Banking real estate resource on prevailing commercial real estate topics and values
- To advise/assist the Underwriting Manager, Credit Policy Officer, Business Bankers, Portfolio Managers and Underwriters regarding loan structure, eligibility and credit issues relating to each investment real estate loan.
- To uphold Webster Bank's compliance with all lending requirements based on all relevant standard operating procedures relating to underwriting, eligibility, maintenance, and closing of all commercial real estate loans.
- To advise Portfolio Managers on requested changes to loan structures and effectively communicate these changes for approval.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors Degree required
- Minimum of 5 to 8 years of related experience - Business lending and Financial Service sales
- Requires a demonstrated high level of organizational ability, financial services sales experience and commercial real estate lending experience, together with project management capability.
- Personal financial statement analysis is necessary (formal credit training preferred but not required)
- Experience in marketing and marketing development as well as negotiating skills are a must
- Must have a demonstrated ability to lead and influence without authority and organizational awareness of Webster and its mission and values.
The estimated salary range for this position is $140,000 USD to $160,000 USD. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
