WHAT’S A CREATIVE DIRECTOR AT HOOK?
Creative Directors are problem-solvers in the marketing field, skilled at building and nurturing client relationships while leading a team of designers, writers, and animators. They must be fluent in marketing, media, production, and social trends, and adept at incorporating a collaborative creative process when generating successful advertising solutions.
For this position, a great Creative Director is an experienced and articulate talent that has gained working experience with both art direction and design, affording them the authority to guide clients and internal teams through the development of multiple simultaneous campaigns. They are highly collaborative and capable of elevating the work of less experienced teams while generating trust and excitement within client relationships. They are a positive source of inspiration that is universally relied upon for conceptual thinking, strategic problem solving, stunning design, and mentorship.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Lead (and directly contribute to) the development of insightfully driven creative concepts and their production to the point of exceeding client expectations
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with all relevant client contacts, becoming an expert on brand culture, products, preferences, and expectations
- Lead the development and presentation of pitch materials for all major and complex campaigns associated with a brand or brand group
- Ensure the highest possible quality of all strategic, creative, and design deliverables within the scope of one or more brand relationships
- Proactively identify and present novel strategic opportunities for new and existing brand partners
- Elevate overall work quality by setting increasingly high standards and articulating ambitious creative opportunities (without sacrificing baseline deliverable requirements)
- Form strong working relationships with Design, Copywriting, Animation and Production staff, ensuring that concepts meet the requirements of all departments
- Mentor and support staff toward the goal of accelerating skill progression through a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing
- Hire, mentor, and manage the success of a functional creative team (copywriters, art directors, and associate creative directors) focusing on hard and soft skills.
- Promote a positive creative culture through teamwork and leading by example
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- This particular position requires a deep emphasis on Visual Design and Art Direction
- An extensive portfolio of thoughtful work that successfully addresses complex marketing challenges across a range of tones and industry types
- Experience working at creative or production agencies—toward the creation and development of successful ad campaigns
- The experience and skills required to facilitate creative development by providing detailed direction, feedback and constructive criticism to creative, design, and motion staff
- The ability to work both hands-on and through others to ensure the success of multiple projects simultaneously
- A thorough understanding of project management and production workflows
- An understanding of creative strategy to create unique territories for conceptual briefs
- An understanding of motion principles and motion production pipelines
- A positive, collaborative attitude that will inspire clients and internal staff to constantly create better work
- The ability to work hours aligning closely with Eastern Standard Time (EST).
